Figure 3, Exhibit C1, has been updated to reflect the location of all fences within
the Affected Area and the 200-foot buffer. Table 1, and other references to this
Figure have been updated as well.
6.4.4 EXHIBIT D - Mining Plan
4) Section 5.2.1.1 states berms will received temporary seed mix. However they will
not be redisturbed after revegetation during phase 1. Provide a justification as to
why these areas are only temporarily reclaimed rather than final reclamation.
The document has been revised to remove references to the use of a temporary
seed mix.
5) Mine Plan maps depict greenbelt (wetland) topsoil being applied by phase
(contemporaneous reclamation). However Section 5.2.3.1 does not expressly
state when topsoil will be applied by, mining phase (30%, 60%, 100%), or at Phase
4. It states "planted with wetlands reclamation species after mining activity is
complete." Please clarify within the Mining Plan how soon after mining concludes
in an areas will reclamation proceed.
Table 2 has been revised to reflect the timing of the topsoil application and
wetland revegetation. These reclamation activities will be completed as soon as
practicable, and anticipated within the estimated 30%, 60%, and 100% mining
reclamation timeframes. Section 5.2.3.1 narrative has been revised to clarify
that the greenbelt reclamation will proceed in concert with mining activity,
subject to operational requirements and seasonal constraints. It should be noted
that the existing topography is variable between the distance of the toe of the
3:1 to 5:1 transition slope across the site, hence creating an estimated 3.57
acres that will need to be reclaimed throughout Phase 3 and potentially during
Phase 4 (noted as the Berm Area or Berm to Greenbelt Area on Figure 14, Exhibit
E1).
6) Table 2 is hard to follow. Tasks are included within Phase 4 but noted as no cost
because they are completed in a previous phase. Please revise table 2, only work
to be completed in each phase should be referenced within that phase.
Table 2 has been revised to address this comment.
6.4.5 EXHIBIT E - Reclamation Plan
