_ 3.7.4.2 Drainage
•
Culverts are provided for road crossings of flowing drainages or streams. Given
the location of the proposed permit area, very few culverts are required since
most light -use crossings occur at the head of the drainages, and the roads are
used principally during the dry weather months. However, culverts are used when
required and are designed to pass safely a ten-year, 24-hour precipitation event.
Ephemeral streams with a drainage of more than one square mile will not be forded
during flow periods. Natural drainages are not altered and any crossings will
not alter the normal flow or gradient of the drainage.
3.7.4.3 Surfacin¢ and Maintenance
Generally, light -use roads are used only during the dry weather months or in the
winter when the surface is frozen. When surfacing is required, however, it will
comply with the discussion in Section 3.7.2.4.
•Roads are maintained as required to ensure their integrity and to minimize ero-
sion. Since the roads are principally used for pickup truck travel during dry
weather months or when frozen, very little maintenance is required.
.7.4.4 Restoration
When no longer required, restoration of those light -use roads constructed by
Trapper Mining Inc. will be accomplished according to Section 3.7.2.6. Those
light -use roads which existed prior to mining operations will either be left iYlas
good or better condition than they were originally or removed and the area
restored according to Section 3.7.2.6.
0 3-177
A
