MINING PLAN(CONT) EXHIBIT C
Portions of the material will be used on the owners ranch roads
in the area. Of the 9. 91± acres in the permit area, approximately
9. 48 acres ± will be mined and 0 . 43 acres ± will be setbacks around
the mined area. These setbacks are shown onMAP EXHIBIT E-2 and are 10
feet wide except along the south side where the setback will be vary
depending on the final floor elevation. The smaller setbacks are
used to maximize the reserves that can be removed from this small
area.
On-site equipment may include, but is not limited to, a motor
grader, front-end loaders, motor scrapers, a dozer, conveyors, a
portable crushing and/or screening plant, dump trucks and a water
truck.
A large stockpile of specification aggregates will be created
on the site as mining progresses . Once there is an adequate supply,
the processing plant will be moved to another site and the processed
material will be removed as needed. The mine will operate year-
around with periods of inactivity, (intermittent operations) when
adverse weather conditions exist . There may be periods when no
activity takes place on the mine because there is no demand for
material. An estimate of how long these periods of inactivity will
be is unknown, but may last up to 6 months or more. If the inactive
period extends past 18 months, the operator will file for a Tempo-
rary Succession.
Less than 9. 5 acres ± will be disturbed at any-one-time. The
bond estimate presented on page 26 shows the amount of land that
would be disturbed at a worse case scenario. This is when there is
5. 0 acres left to be mined and 4 .5 acres have been resoiled and
seeded. As mining progresses we expect to have no more that 700
feet of slope face that would need resoiling and seeding at any-one-
time. No interim sloping work will be needed since the deposit will
be mined so the working face will be graded 2h to lv at all times,
so no slope grading will be necessary if mining ends prematurely. A
temporary safety berm will be built along the south side that will
serve two purposes, one is for drive off safety and the other is to
prevent uncontrolled stormwater runoff from leaving the disturbed
area. The final floor of the mine will be graded to preserve the
drainage pattern across the site when reclamation is complete as
shown on the RECLAMATION PLAN MAP-EXHIBIT E-3.
W.F.
