Site Description (cont) Exhibit B
PERMANENT MAN-MADE STRUCTURES
A private dirt road and the 4 strand wire fence approxi-
mately 165 feet north of the permit boundary side, are the only
structures within 200 feet of the affected lands . The permittee
owns the road and the fence . There are no above or below ground
communication or power lines, bridges, wells, pipelines, water
storage impoundments, railroad tracks, cemeteries or communica-
tion antennas within 200 feet of the affected lands .
WATER RESOURCES
There are no water structures on the site. The closest
stream is the North Carrizo Creek that at its closest point is
approximately 11 miles west of the site. Review of well records
for the area in the State Engineers well database indicates the
water table is more then 250 feet below the floor level of the
mine. The closest well is approximately 1, 080 feet east-south-
east of the permit area on W.F. Ratliff property. The top of the
well is approximately 30 lower then the mine floor and the water
level is almost 300 feet below that .
For this reason, mining will not reach the ground water
table. The hydrologic balance of the surface or subsurface water
in the area will not be affected. No water will be used at the
mine for processing, if needed for dust control it will be
purchased from a source approved for this use and hauled to the
mine. This source may be from a local well adjudicated for
industrial uses.
The exact amount to be purchased is unknown at this time,
under normal conditions approximately 2 acre-ft per year or 5, 000
gallons per truck load will be needed.
W.F. RATLIFF-East Sand Canyon Mine 22 June 1, 2023
