Skies were cloudy. <br />Temperatures ranged between 30 and 45 degrees Fahrenheit. A gusty wind kicked up dust from the haul <br />road. Snow covered the north facing slopes of the site. Access roads remained either snow drifted or <br />muddy, and therefore inaccessible. <br /> <br />PERMITTING ACTIONS in PROGRESS: <br />o Permit Revision 11 (PR11) decision was proposed <br />o TR134 is under consideration by DRMS <br /> <br />OUTSTANDING MAINTENANCE <br /> <br />INSPECTION <br />GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLIANCE: <br />Activities in the L, N and I and J Pits were observed and appear to be progressing as permitted. The <br />Molly Braun drag line was idle at the time of inspection at the south end of L Pit. The Baby Doe drag <br />line was working at the north end of L Pit. Coal was being hauled out of L Pit from the lower Q seam. <br /> <br />The Queen Anne dragline had been walked to the west end of the mine and was stationed just to the east <br />of D Pit, awaiting widening of the remainder of the walk road. Coal and overburden were being hauled. <br />A blast set up in L Pit. <br /> <br />I Pit Middle Extension contains water. Highwall mining to the north of the pit must wait for water to <br />recede. In I Pit East the high wall miner is active. The highwall miner had been moved to I Pit East the <br />previous day. The pit will be back filled open upper coal seam. <br /> <br />ROADS – Rule 4.03 <br />Construction 4.03.1(3) I 4.03.2(3); Drainage 4.03.1(4) I 4.03.2(4); Surfacing and Maintenance 4.03.1(5) <br />and (6) I 4.03.2(5) and (6); Reclamation 4.03.1(7) I 4.03.2(7) <br />o Main haul roads were dry. Equipment traffic and wind was causing reduced air quality. <br />o Access roads were inaccessible throughout the site due to snow and mud. <br />o Ditches appeared to be functioning adequately. <br /> <br />
