EXHIBIT K—CLIMATE <br /> Description of the significant climatological factors for the locality. <br /> Climate in the study area is semiarid, typical within much of the central Rocky Mountain <br /> region. The Colorado Climate Center website was reviewed for precipitation, snowfall, <br /> and temperature data. The average annual precipitation is approximately 16 inches, and <br /> the average annual temperature is 67-degrees Fahrenheit. Average summer temperatures <br /> range from 85 to 90-degrees Fahrenheit. <br /> The average annual rainfall recorded for the period 2005-2020 from the Town of <br /> Cheyenne Wells is 18.21 inches and 14.60 inches recorded at the Town of Kit Carson. <br /> The average snowfall over the same time period is 21.54 inches at the Town of Cheyenne <br /> Wells and 17.67 inches at the Town of Kit Carson. The months with the highest <br /> precipitation are June and July; the months with the lowest precipitation are December <br /> and January. <br /> Using data acquired from NOAA's online data service, the estimated average wind speed <br /> was calculated using wind data from the Town of Cheyenne Wells between June 2015 and <br /> June 2016. The average wind speed in the study area is report ranging from a low of <br /> approximately 8 mph and a high of approximately15 mph. Wind gusts from the same <br /> time period ranged between approximately 22 to 42 mph. <br /> K-1 <br />
