NOTICE OF FILING APPLICATION
COLORADO MINED LAND RECLAMATION PERMIT AMENDMENT
Notice to the Board of County Commissioners
Clear Creek County
The Climax Molybdenum Company, Henderson Operations (Henderson) intends to apply to the
Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board (the "Board") for an Amendment to its current Mining
and Reclamation Permit(M-1977-342)for its mining and milling operation located in Clear Creek
and Grand Counties. The attached information is being provided to notify you of the location and
nature of the proposed activities included in the Amendment. The entire Amendment application
is on file with the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (DRMS) and with the
local county clerk and recorder.
This Amendment (AM-08) proposes to increase the Henderson Mill affected land boundary by
224 acres to allow for the installation of water quality management related infrastructure, including
access roads for new monitoring wells.
With the addition of the above affected land areas, Henderson anticipates that the total affected
land area under Permit No. M-1977-342 will increase to 4,584.2 acres. The Amendment will not
change the future permitted post-mining land use or the present mining or milling operations at
Henderson.
Pursuant to Section 34-32-116(7)0), C.R.S., the Board is required to confer with the local Board
of County Commissioners before approving of the post-mining land use. Accordingly, the Board
would appreciate your comments on the proposed operation. Please note that, in order to preserve
your right to a hearing before the Board on this application, you must submit written comments on
the application via electronic form at: https://dnrlaserfiche.state.co.us/Fonns/DRMS_Comment
within twenty (20) days of the date of Henderson's last newspaper publication.
If you would like to discuss the proposed post-mining land use, or any other issue regarding this
application, please contact the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety, 1313 Sherman
Street, Room 215, Denver, Colorado 80203, (303) 866-3567.
