SECTION 1. Introduction
The purpose of this report is to revise previously identified and described aquatic resources
within the 25± acre survey area comprised of open water and wetland fringe north of the
Redlands Parkway and combined wetland fringe and open water in the saline wetland south of
the parkway. These excavated features are associated with a gravel pit operated by Elam
Construction located at 23'/4 Road immediately adjacent to the Colorado River. Wetland
hydrology is from ground and surface water created by mining the gravel resource below the
water table resulting in a water-filled depression in hydraulic connection with the local
groundwater flow system. This report facilitates efforts to:
1. Document aquatic resource boundary determinations for review by regulatory authorities.
2. Provide background information.
Table 1 provides the contact information for the applicant and agent for this project.
Table 1. Project Location
The wetland survey area is located just west of 23'/4 Road and north of the Colorado River in
Grand Junction, Colorado. The approximately 24.95-acre survey area includes two land parcels
straddling the Redlands Parkway. The South Wilsea Drain, 383 linear feet of open drain
managed by the Grand Valley Drainage District(GVDD), is located in the northern portion of
the survey area;the 2,303 linear feet Wilsea Drain is outside of it.
