The inspection was completed by Clayton Wein, Lucas
West and Todd Jesse of the Division. Leo Compuzano represented GCC Energy during the
inspection. The weather was a rain/snow mix with a temperature of 35 degrees F. The ground
was mostly covered with snow and muddy.
During the inspection the Division identified 3 maintenance items, all in the King 11 facilities
area. Please complete the maintenance items as soon as ground conditions allow and submit
photos to the Division when they are completed.
1. Please clean the coal fines out of the east
clearwater ditch and off of the side of the berm extending into the clearwater ditch (Photo
3).
3. There is a drainage grate with straw waddles surrounding the inlet. The pad next to this
grate has become heavily sedimented and filled in. Please clean the pad when conditions
allow and replace the straw waddles to ensure the drainage grate continues to function as
designed(Photo 4)
AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS—Rule 5.02.4(1):
The records for the King Coal Mine are located at the mine office at the King II facilities area.
