d) Measurement and Payment <br /> There shall be no measurement for payment. Payment for this task will be <br /> reflected in a lump sum bid under Item 3 of the Bid Schedule. This lump <br /> sum bid will include all payment for excavation , transport and <br /> backfilling of overburden and subsoil into strip-pits, and final grading <br /> according to the above specifications. Payment will be as the work <br /> outlined above is canpleted and approved by the PROJECT MANAGER. Payment <br /> for this task shall be made only for that amount shown under Item 3 on <br /> the Bid Schedule. All incidental costs shall be reflected in each Bid <br /> Item or shall be incurred at the CONTRACTOR's expense. <br /> TASK 4 Sediment Pond Improvement <br /> a ) Improvement of Pond B <br /> Pond B is an existing sediment control containment with rough dimensions <br /> of 200 feet X 50 feet (See Drainage Plan ). A two feet (2' ) high concrete <br /> structure at the northeast end of the pond will continue to be used as <br /> the dam for this pond. The CONTRACTOR will dress out the bottom and <br /> sides of this sediment pond to stabilize the banks and to increase the <br /> holding capacity by the removal of bottom irregularities. The pond will <br /> remain at current dimensions and will not require the addition or removal <br /> of any appreciable quantity of earth . The PROJECT MANAGER will provide <br /> reference stakes to delineate the perimeter of the pond. The CONTRACTOR <br /> will profile pond walls at a slope of 2:1 (horizontal:vertical ) from <br /> provided perimeter stakes . <br /> b) Adjustable Crest Gate <br /> In addition , the CONTRACTOR will install an adjustable crest gate into <br /> the spillway crest notch in the existing Pond B dam. The adjustable <br /> crest gate will be constructed of flashboards which can be placed or <br /> removed into angle-iron guides. The angle iron guides shall be concrete <br /> bolted or ramset into the spillway crest notch. The dimensions of the <br /> adjustable crest gate are two and one-half feet (2 1/2' ) in width by two <br /> feet (2' ) in height. The CONTRACTOR shall supply all material for the <br /> construction and installation of the adjustable crest gate. <br /> c) Measurement and Payment <br /> There will be no measurement for payment. Payment for this task will be <br /> reflected in a lump sum bid under Item 4 of the Bid Schedule. Payment <br /> for Pond B improvements, including installation of the adjustable crest <br /> gate, will be as the work is completed and approved by the PROJECT <br /> MANAGER. All costs, including materials and inci dentals , to dress out <br /> sediment Pond B and for the construction of the adjustable crest gate <br /> will be reflected in this or other Bid Item's or shall be incurred at the <br /> CONTRACTORS expense. <br /> -9- <br />
