Colorado Division of Reclamation, rojeet <br /> Summary <br /> Mining & Safety <br /> Enterprise Mine Bond Forfeiture Project, continued... <br /> Construction Summary Cont. •- <br /> The upper entry was also backfilled over the weekend and was <br /> ready for inspection on Monday, September 14. The middle entry <br /> was backfilled on the 15th while a DRMS Project Manager was on <br /> site. , - . <br /> During project construction,it was determined that there was - <br /> insufficient material at the lower entry to complete the backfill as <br /> designed and that there was not enough room on the access road to "`.04 416"- <br /> rip the road at 30 degrees as specified. Alternative options were <br /> designed by the DRMS Project Manager and approved by the <br /> GMUG and reclamation activities continued. During this time,the <br /> travel trailer and metallic debris were removed from the historic <br /> site,hauled out and disposed of in a licensed landfill. The backfill <br /> of the large cut and regrading of the mine dump at the lower entry <br /> was completed and ready for inspection on September 24. Completed backfill of the lower mine entry cut. (view from top) <br /> That same afternoon, snow arrived at the project site,covering Final surface of backfill was finished with "divots"to break up surface <br /> rocks and creating unsafe working conditions. The request was <br /> n <br /> granted and construction resumed again on October 7. Additional <br /> crews were brought in and the project concluded with the <br /> remainder of the access road being reclaimed at about noon on = , <br /> October 11. <br /> Change Orders f; <br /> Two Change Orders were issued for this project,resulting in a net +- <br /> • <br /> increase of$5,732.00 to the contract price. The details of the <br /> Change Orders are listed below. <br /> CO-1: Increase quantity of water bars from twenty five(25)to '. <br /> forty(40). USFS requested additional water bars be constructed : t` <br /> along access road. ($1,086 increase) <br /> A portion of the three mile mine access road reclaimed in the <br /> Collegiate Peaks Wilderness. Divots were also constructed in <br /> CO-2: Additional equipment and labor costs incurred due to to the road base to control erosion and eliminate travel by <br /> weather delays extending project beyond the original 30 day motorized vehicles. <br /> completion time.($4,646 increase) <br /> CDRMS Office Locations <br /> Monitoring& Maintenance <br /> Monitoring will be conducted to observe the progress of the Denver Telluride <br /> reclamation but,due to the Wilderness designation,any future Grand Junction Crested Butte <br /> maintenance will have to be performed without the use of <br /> Durango Leadville <br /> motorized equipment. <br />
