Wade Wymore accompanied the inspection
and represented the Operator. Normal activies were takaing place at the mine during the inspection. at the King II
area,the stackers were active and trucks were bineg loaded at the time of the inspection. At the King I facility,
refuse material was actively being trammed from the Lower Refuse Pile to the Upper Refuse Pile. It was clear and
muddy at the time of the inspection. Eight Photos accompany this report to illustrate the current site conditions.
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE -Rule 4.05
Drainage Control 4.05.1,4.05.2,4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5,4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7,4.05.10;
Diversions 4.05.4;Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13;
Drainage —Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8;Impoundments 4.05.6,4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18:
King I Facility
A minor erosional feature was noted near the interface of the access road and the Lower Refuse Pile. Sheet flow is
diverted to the East side of the access to road and eventually reports to the sediment ponds down gradient. Where
the access road meets the Lower Refuse Pile the minor erosion was noted and discussed with the Operator. It is
not considered a problem at this time,nor a maintenance item,but the Operator should monitor it and intervene
should the snowmelt cause further erosion.
King II Facility
At the King II Facility,the internal drainage ditches, sediment pond and East Clear Water Ditch were observed.
All internal ditches were functioning as designed. They were free from obstruction and all observed culverts were
in good condition. An example of the internal ditches can be seen in Photo One. The main Sediment Pond was
observed,and contained a significant volume of standing water from snowmelt however was not discharging at the
time of the inspection. The pond can be seen in Photo Two. The banks of the pond appeared stable,and well
vegetated. All downstream ditches from the main sediment pond contained minimal water from snowmelt,not
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 6
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 2
Page 2 of 7
