Compliance With Mine Plan N - Support Facilities Not On-site <br /> N -Other N - Special Categories Of Mining <br /> R -Processing Waste Y -Topsoil <br /> COMMENTS <br /> This inspection report documents the Division's observations taken during a partial inspection of the Deserado <br /> Mine on January 26, 2023. The inspection was completed by Clayton Wein of the Division. The operator's <br /> representative,Kurt Blunt,was present for the inspection. The weather was clear with a temperature of 9 degrees <br /> F. The ground was covered in approximately 2 feet of snow. <br /> FISH and WILDLIFE—Rule 4.18: <br /> During the inspection of the DP-1 pond a group of deer was seen approaching the pond from the adjacent <br /> hillside (Photo 1). <br /> HYDROLOGIC BALANCE -Rule 4.05 <br /> Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; <br /> Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; <br /> Drainage—Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br /> During the inspection the Facilities area ponds DP-1 (Photo 2) and PP-1 were frozen and covered with <br /> snow. The embankments had no indications of erosional features. There were no observed signs of instability. <br /> The two ponds located to the north of the Slot Storage Facility were completely covered with snow(Photo 3). The <br /> embankments of the ponds were observed to be stable with no erosional concerns. <br /> The RS-1 sump and RR-1 Pond are located on the south side of the rail loadout facility. The sump and pond were <br /> covered with snow during the inspection. There were no indications of erosional features or signs of instability on <br /> the embankments. <br /> The B Seam Dewatering system No. 2 was also snow covered at the time of the inspection. All three cells <br /> embankments were underneath snow.
