COLORADO <br /> Division of Reclamation, <br /> A ca 0 Mining and Safety <br /> Department of Natural Resources <br /> 1313 Sherman Street,Room 215 <br /> Denver,CO 80203 <br /> DATE: January 18, 2022 <br /> TO: All Bidders on the Thomas Gravel Pit#4 Reclamation Project <br /> FROM: Jeremy D Reineke, Division of Reclamation, Mining& Safety <br /> RE: Thomas Gravel Pit#4 Reclamation Project—IFB1, #2022-0123 <br /> Amendment No. 1 <br /> Thank you for your interest in the Thomas Gravel Pit#4 Reclamation Project and attending the Pre-Bid Meeting <br /> on January 12, 2022. The following clarifications and amendments should be noted and incorporated into the <br /> bid document: <br /> 1. Abandon Existing Piezometer(Item 4.0, page 11)—DRMS has determined that the piezometer is plugged <br /> at the current ground surface. Therefore the piezometer abandonment specification shall be changed <br /> to the following. The CONTRACTOR shall cut and properly dispose of the steel piezometer casing a <br /> minimum of two feet (2ft) below the finished grade. The area shall then be backfilled with onsite <br /> material to a level equal to the finished grade of the surrounding pit floor. <br /> 2. Install and maintain Sediment and Erosion Control Measures (Item 3.0, page 10) <br /> Question: Can a ditch and berm be substituted as an erosion control measure in place of the specified <br /> straw wattles? <br /> DRMS Response: No, after further consideration the specified biodegradable straw wattles shall be the <br /> only approved erosion control method for the purposes of this bid. All other specifications remain the <br /> same. <br /> 3. Safeguarding North Highwall and Site Grading (Item 6.0, Page 12) <br /> Question: If a stockpile within the construction limits is not disturbed or utilized for fill or other site <br /> grading does it need to be graded down to match the grade of the pit floor? <br /> DRMS Response: No. If a stockpile within the construction limits is not utilized or disturbed then it may <br /> be left in place. Unused or undisturbed stock piles will not be required to be graded down to match the <br /> grade of the cell floor.
