Spray all Thistle, Knapweed, and any additional noxious weeds found on the project <br /> area, as directed by PROJECT MANAGER. Approximately 9 acres will be sprayed. <br /> ATV mounted sprayers will be permitted. The following mixture of herbicides will be <br /> applied to the site: <br /> 200 gallon mixture applied at a rate of approximately 22 gal/acre <br /> The mixture is as follows: <br /> 2 quarts Milestone <br /> 2.5 gallons 2,4D Amine 4 <br /> 2 quarts Activator 90 Surfactant. <br /> Measurement and Payment <br /> Measurement for this ITEM will be made at the unit prices established in ITEM 3.0 of <br /> the Bid Schedule. Measurement for payment will be made to the nearest 0.1 acre. The <br /> price bid for selective weed spray will cover all costs for completing the activities <br /> required under this ITEM. Payment will be approved by the PROJECT MANAGER upon <br /> completion of this ITEM. Such payment will be considered full compensation for all <br /> labor, materials, equipment, and all other items necessary and incidental to the <br /> completion of this bid item. Invoices are to be accompanied by Daily Job Logs <br /> summarizing the work included in the invoice. <br /> ITEM 4.0 PROVIDE AND INSTALL TOPSOIL <br /> Approximately three quarter acre (.75 ac.) will be covered with imported topsoil. Topsoil <br /> will be placed to a depth of three to four inches over areas that presently have thin <br /> topsoil cover, as designated by the PROJECT MANAGER. The existing access road will <br /> NOT be covered will topsoil. <br /> This bid item covers providing and installing topsoil from an approved source. The <br /> topsoil shall be well graded natural soil or sand and gravel suitable as a rooting zone for <br /> plants. It will contain no particles larger than six inches. Heavy clay is not acceptable. <br /> The plant growth medium will be loam textured natural soil with a minimum 3% organic <br /> content. The plant growth medium and the clean fill shall be certified weed free. <br /> The total amount of topsoil required shall be three hundred sixty cubic yards (360 <br /> cy.). Mechanical compaction techniques approved by the PROJECT MANAGER shall <br /> be used to distribute and lightly compact the material. Material shall be contoured <br /> consistent with the underlying area surface. The final surface of the consolidation and <br /> excavation areas shall be roughened sufficiently to reduce storm related erosion and <br /> provide an adequate seed bed for revegetation. <br /> Page 9 of 10 <br /> Rev.7/15/2022 <br />
