Reclamation of the J&S Farms site is limited to reducing the highwall on eastern edges of the ponds. The highwall is approximately six to ten (6-10) feet above the groundwater elevation, and approximately two thousand six hundred fifty linear feet (2,650 LF) long. See attached map for further details. Highwall elimination shall start approximately fifteen (15) feet back from the edge of the pond. Material shall be cut and removed to achieve an overall slope of 3H:1 V. The material cut to eliminate the highwall shall be placed directly into the pond as fill. At NO time shall any water from the pond be allowed to discharge offsite during construction. The Division estimates approximately five thousand cubic yards (5,000 yd3) of material is required to be cut to eliminate the highwall to a 3H:1V slope or less, as directed by the PROJECT MANAGER. Please note this figure is an estimate of the material that will need to be graded into the pond. CONTRACTORS are responsible for verifying all estimates prior to bid submittal. No outside fill or organic matter shall be backfilled in the pit unless approved by the PROJECT MANAGER. Measurement and Payment There will be no measurement for payment. Payment for this task will be reflected in a lump sum quote under Task 3.0 on the Bid Schedule. This lump sum quote will cover all costs for this task including equipment, maintenance, supplies and operator costs. Payment shall be made as this task is completed and approved by the PROJECT MANAGER. ITEM 4.0 REVEGETATE ALL DISTURBED AREAS Following grading of the highwall along the shore of the ponds, approximately 8 acres (8 ac.)will be hand broadcast with a native seed mix. Seed will be incorporated mechanically Seed will be supplied by the PROJECT MANAGER. Fertilizer and mulch are NOT required. MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT Revegetated areas will be measured to the nearest tenth (0.1) acre and paid at the unit price per acre bid on the Bid Schedule Item 4.0 and are not guaranteed. The prices bid shall include all costs for labor, materials, equipment and all other items necessary and incidental for the revegetation within the Project Area as described in these specifications. Payment shall be as this item is completed approved by PROJECT MANAGER. MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT Measurement for payment shall be made per hour, prorated to the nearest quarter hour for the actual unit quantities provided according to specification in Section 19.0 of the General Bid Specifications, 2009.
