Gra,✓e` P,t #1 Jari,.i:ry :13
• When growing media is replaced, it will be done in as even a manner as possible.
Fertilizer or other soil amendments shall be added, if needed, although not
anticipated.
• Vegetative piles will be removed from the area or used in accordance with the
Reclamation Plan.
6.1.1.6 Revegetation
Figure 14, Exhibit E1 and Figure 15, Exhibit E2 provide detailed information regarding the
revegetation of the Rifle Pit. An excerpt from Figure 15, Exhibit E2 outlining the upland and
wetland seeding mixes is included below.
TABLE 1 — UPLAND SEEDING AND PLANTING MIX
% COMMON NAME SCIENTIFIC NAME VARIETY FORM PLS ( BS/ACRE)f
20 ORCHARD GRASS DACTYUS GLOMERATA AS LOCALLY AVAILABLE BUNCH 36
20 WESTERN WHEATGRASS PASCOPYRVM SMITHII AS LOCALLY AVAILABLE SOD—FORMING 36
20 TIMOTHY PHLEVM PRATENSE AS LOCALLY AVAILABLE BUNCH 36
40 MEADOW BROME BROMUS BIESERSTEINII AS LOCALLY AVAILABLE BUNCH 72
TABLE 2 — WETLAND SEEDING AND PLANTING MIX
% COMMON NAME SCIENTIFIC NAME VARIETY FORM PLS (L,/ACRE),!
-- SPEARLEAF RABB"RUSH DACTYLIS GLOMERATA WILDLANO COLLECTED SEED SHRUB 005
-- COYOTE WILLOW SALIX EXIGVA CONTAINERIZED STOCK (60 Ire') SHRUB I CONTAINER
PER S SOFT
-- BALTIC RUSH JUNCOS BALTICUS AS LOCALLY AVARABLE SOD—FORMING 06
-- NEBRASKA SEDGE CARER NEBRASCENStS AS LOCALLY AVAILABLE SOD—FORMING 16
-- BEAKED SEDGE CARER ULTRICULATA CCMTAreERIZEO STOCK (10 IN1) RHIZOMATOVS 1 CONTAINER
PER 3 SO FT
-- CLUSTERED FIELD SEDGE CARER PRAEGRACILIS AS LOCALLY AVAILABLE SOO—FORMING 12
-- CMANRMAKER'S BULRUSH SCHOENOPLECTUS AMERICMRVS CONTAINERIZED STOCK (60 1W) RHIZOMATOUS I CONTAINER
PFR T SO FT
The proposed revegetation was selected with the following intents:
• Establish a diverse, effective, and long-lasting vegetative cover that is capable of
self-regeneration without continued dependence on irrigation, soil amendments or
fertilizer. Native mixes were selected to comply with NRCS standards, and to match
surrounding land conditions.
• Provide for the greatest probability of success in plant establishment and vegetation
development by considering environmental factors such as seasonal patterns of
precipitation, temperature, and wind; soil texture and fertility; slope stability; and
direction of slope faces. Similar attention was given to biological factors.
• Ensure the establishment of a diverse and long-lasting vegetative cover by
employing site preparation and protection techniques such as soil conditioning;
mulching; and soil amendments. Mulch
• Mulch will be applied at a rate of 1.5 tons/acre of hay (preferred) or 2 tons/acre of
straw.
• Prohibit noxious weed species through weed control methods as documented in
Attachment C. See Section 6.6 for additional information.
6.1.1.7 Buildings and Structures
There are no historical structures on the property, per a Class III cultural resource inventory
completed by Flattops Archaeological Consultants.
40
