Rule 2: Permits
As demonstrated by data presented in Table 2.05.16a and Table 2.05.16b taken from
LCM Annual Hydrologic Monitoring Reports, mining has had no quantifiable impact on
Surface Water Resources. Thus the Division approved termination of monitoring at sites
JC -1, LC -1, LC -2, PRGTY -1 and PRGTY -2 in 2009. These sites were monitored for
parameters as determined from initial baseline sampling. To determine these parameters
the standards were compared to the values reported during the baseline period and those
values which exceeded standards or were within 80% of the lowest standards value were
included. The list of parameters in Table 2.05.6 -10 was deemed adequate to monitor the
surface stations.

The parameters silver, cyanide, copper, mercury, and nitrate as N (dissolved) were not
included in this list since either as the standards are less than the detect limit or no
analyses of these constituents were above the detection limits. Likewise lead (dissolved),
selenium (dissolved), and zinc (dissolved) were removed from the list.
Springs and Seeps
Spring and seep sites designated for monitoring are designated in Table 2.05.6 -11.
