manner that restores the pre-mine soil profile. All areas will be seeded to revegetate the site as
rangeland. Refer to Map F-1 for the Hayden Gravel Pit reclamation conditions.
There will be more than enough overburden and topsoil stockpiled from on-site materials to fulfill
reclamation needs. Table E-2 shows the overburden and topsoil volumes stripped prior to
mining, and the volumes required for reclamation. The materials required to reclaim any existing
disturbances (Pod 1) are already stockpiled on site.
Table E-2 Reclamation Volumes
Material Available on Site Requirements for Reclamation
Pod Area Topsoil Overburden Topsoil Overburden
(acres) Stripped Stripped I Required Backfill Required
CY CY (CY) (CY
1 43.6 70,300 773,800 70,300 58,900
2 41.4 66,800 734,700 66,800 54,400
3 52.9 85,300 938,800 85,300 81,700
Totals 1 137.9 222,400 2,447,300 222,400 195,000
Note:These volumes are from the beginning of each pod.Pod 1 has nearly been mined out,and as such is
nearly done with topsoil and overburden stripping. These volumes show the overall material balance, not the
material balance at the time of this amendment.
2. Topsoil Replacement
An average of 12 inches of topsoil will be stripped from all new mining areas and as such 12
inches of topsoil will be replaced on all disturbed areas being reclaimed. This will be stockpiled
for use in reclamation or direct placed. Topsoil will be replaced on areas that have been
backfilled and graded for reclamation. Stripped topsoil will be placed directly for reclamation
whenever possible. Topsoil will be replaced by dozers and haul trucks. Topsoiled areas will be
disced to air in root penetration.
3. Haul Roads and Access
All access roads will be maintained after reclamation to provide site access. This includes the
road constructed to the new mining areas.
4. Reclamation Timetable and Sequence
The sequence and timing of reclamation can be seen in Table E-3 below. Reclamation of the
entire site is estimated to be completed in 23 years. The reclamation schedule is dependent on
the rate of mining which will fluctuate due to market demands. The operator will reclaim the site
concurrently with the progression of mining to limit the total disturbance.
Table E-3 Reclamation Timetable
Hayden Gravel Pit
December 2022 E-2 Lewicki&Associates
