The existing Mining Lease has been amended to exclude the
portion of the property slated for current development within the City. Installation of utilities roads, drainage
improvements and on site improvements for a new Costco warehouse are in process. Mining on the property
has not commenced. However, the operator has constructed the screening berms along the western perimeter
of the amended permit area and is completing other improvements in anticipation of mining.
This request is to remove approximately 63 acres from the Permit Boundary. The area to be removed from the
Permit Boundary is shown on the attached, updated mining and reclamation plans. This application has been
submitted under separate cover via Certified Mail to the Division.
TECHNICAL REVISION
We are requesting a Technical Revision to the existing permit to allow for:
• Mining and reclamation within the amended permit boundary
• Mining Sequence:
o Adjust the mining sequence to reflect elimination of a portion of the permit area and the current
best information regarding the 100 year floodplain on the property.
o This site is part of the ongoing FEMA Mapping Amendment process that resulted from the
2013 flooding in this reach of St. Wain Creek. The current"effective" FEMA flood plain, FEMA
Flood Plain currently"Under Review"and the updated information resulting from a"City of
Longmont Appeal'of the current mapping under review are all indicated on the plans. The best
available information places Cell 1 outside the 100 year flood plain.
o The mining sequence has been adjusted to include concurrent mining of Cell 1A and Cell 1 to
allow the operator to generate material on site to back fill cell 1A.
'ESOURCE CONSERVATION PARTNERS, LLC
p.o. box 1522, Longmont CO 80502 tel 303.775 6180 fax 303.702.0585
