Form 2 – Public File Page 9 of 14
3. Describe the estimated topsoil depth and how topsoil will be salvaged, stockpiled and
redistributed for the re-establishment of vegetation. Specify approximate topsoil
redistribution depth:
4. Describe how drill holes will be plugged (refer to Rule 5.4 of the Rules for required
abandonment procedures):
5. Describe how portals, adits, shafts, ponds, excavations, or other disturbances will be
reclaimed (refer to Rule 3 and Rule 5 for specific reclamation performance standards).
You may wish to contact the Division for closure specifications.
Topsoil is estimated to be minimal. Topsoil present in the areas of the proposed road
and pad surfaces will be stripped and stored along the edges of disturbance to allow for
redistribution. Width of disturbance for proposed roads will be 14 feet to allow for a
topsoil berm along the road. When the topsoil is redistributed over the surfaces, the
depth of topsoil will be similar to existing conditions prior to prospecting.
Mud pits, located within drill pads, will be backfilled and the surface reclaimed along
with the drill pad.
Drill holes will be plugged in accordance with Mineral Rules and Regulations of the
Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board. Each drill hole will be permanently plugged,
sealed, or capped before the rig moves from each drill site. Drill holes with artesian flow
will be plugged with neat cement grout or similar material. A final report will be
submitted no later than sixty (60) days after the abandonment of drill holes with
artesian flow at the surface or no later than twelve (12) months after abandonment of
any other drill holes. The report will contain information as stated in Rule 5.7. Artesian
flow is not anticipated in the proposed drill holes.
