5. Asphalt Specialties will have approved flood permits, gravel pit well permit and a substitute
water supply plan prior to exposing groundwater or working in the floodway. Revision of the
substitute water supply plan takes place annually and accounts for water consumed by
exposing groundwater to evaporation, dust control and water contained in the aggregate
materials. Precipitation runs off are contained in the mine areas for use as dust suppression or
allowed to evaporate.
D—Size of the largest one-time affected land area is 15.3 acres.
STILES MINING RESOURCE -SURVEY MINE-Affected Area
Parcel Proles Area PHASE BLOCK Area
(Acres)
Parcel111 37.86 1 IA-B 30.7
Parcel III,Asphalt Plant -7.20 0.0
Access Rd 1100 1 1.0
TOTAL 3L66 TOTAL 3L7
See Sheet C-2 for Mine phase, block and mining direction diagram.
The mine phases consist of a sequence of two smaller mine blocks with each having±15.3 acres of
minable area. The mine will follow a standard pattern for each block, including striping, dewatering,
mining, back filling and placing topsoil just prior to seeding.
E- Mining Sequence and Schedule-ASCI plans to mine and reclaim the SAles Mining Resource in one
(1) phases with two blocks.
