There are no changes to this section of the <br /> permit application. <br /> VIIL Coal Mine Waste Banks <br /> The New Horizon Mine did not produce coal refuse material during the mining operation. <br /> As such, no coal mine waste banks were permitted or created. There are no changes to this <br /> section of the permit application. <br /> IX.Coal Mine Waste <br /> The New Horizon Mine did not produce coal refuse material during the mining operation. <br /> As such, no coal mine waste banks were permitted or created. There are no changes to this <br /> section of the permit application. <br /> X. Backfilling and Grading <br /> The mine pits have all been backfilled. Final grading and contours are being evaluated as the <br /> operator determines long term water management at the northwest portion of the mine site. <br /> This permit revision is not proposing changes to the backfill and grading plans at this time. <br /> Permit details on backfilling and grading are provided in Section 2.05.4(2)(c). The proposed <br /> post-mining topography is depicted on Map 2.05.4-1. This map also includes a series of <br /> cross sections which provide comparisons of the pre-mining ground surface with the <br /> proposed post-mining elevations. <br /> XI.Revegetation <br /> The proposed revegetation plan is designed for the post-mining land uses of irrigated pasture, <br /> cropland-irrigated alfalfa hay and dryland pasture. All revegetation plans are discussed in <br /> Section 2.05.4 (2)(e). No changes to the approved vegetation plan is proposed with this <br /> permit revision. <br /> A. Introduced Species <br /> The Division proposes to approve the use of introduced species in the reclamation seed mix. <br /> The applicant has submitted information that shows that the introduced species are desirable <br /> and necessary to achieve the approved post-mining land use, and are not poisonous or <br /> noxious (4.15.2). <br /> Seed mixes number 2 and 3 are temporary seed mixes. Introduced species in these mixes <br /> will facilitate site stabilization and provide organic matter when incorporated into the topsoil <br /> prior to permanent seeding. <br /> 15 <br />
