No upstream sampling location is
necessary as baseline conditions will be defined from the downstream location prior to mining.
1 .2. Sampling Frequency
Baseline groundwater sampling will take place prior to mining of Phase 3 and 4. Phase 3 and 4
of mining is anticipated to start in the Spring of 2033, however this timeline is variable based on
the mining of Phases 1 and 2. Sampling will begin approximately two quarters in advance of any
disturbance to the Phase 3 and 4 area. One sample per quarter will be taken to define the
baseline conditions of the groundwater downstream of the mining operation.
Long term groundwater sampling will take place while Phase 3 and 4 are being mined. This will
occur once per quarter throughout the year. The frequency of sampling for long-term monitoring
may be decreased in the future if no adverse water quality impacts are detected within the first
few years of mining of Phase 3 and Phase 4. If the frequency of sampling is decreased, it will
return to once per quarter under two conditions:
1) Adverse water quality impacts have been detected in the groundwater.
Delta Paving Gravel Pit
Groundwater Monitoring Plan G-2-3 Lewicki&Associates
September 2022
