These activities will <br />not impact the route or height of the C&W railroad grade, <br />will not diminish the structural or aesthetic integrity of the <br />resource, and will not remove, replace, or otherwise <br />significantly alter any other qualifying characteristics of <br />the railroad’s NRHP eligibility. <br /> 5LA.14435 <br />Structure: C&W Railroad <br />Stringer Bridge at MP 16.35 <br /> <br />Not Individually Eligible <br />Non-Contributing to C&W <br />None; because the low-profile steel stringer bridge at MP <br />16.35, classified in some documents as a box culvert, is a <br />minor-built element of the C&W Railroad, it is not <br />considered a contributing feature of the C&W Railroad <br />and does not require protection. The bridge at MP 16.35 <br />will be replaced with a smooth steel pipe culvert protected <br />by riprap. The Project will not alter the C&W railroad <br />grade’s route, height, or any other qualifying <br />characteristics of the railroad’s NRHP eligibility. <br /> 5LA.14436 <br />Structure: C&W Railroad <br />Concrete Slab Bridge at MP <br />18.68 <br /> <br />Not Individually Eligible <br />Contributing to C&W <br />Restoration and Preservation; the proposed scope of <br />work to be conducted on 5LA.14436 is limited to the <br />removal of ballast from the existing deck, the cleaning of <br />deck drains and bearings, the application of concrete <br />sealer, and the placement of riprap behind the existing <br />wingwall. Project activities will not remove, replace, or <br />otherwise alter any distinctive or qualifying historic <br />features or characteristics of the NRHP-eligible C&W <br />Railroad, nor will project activities alter the course of the <br />railroad or the height of the railroad grade.
