Topsoil and overburden will be stockpiled as needed in the designated Soil Storage Area (Map <br /> C-2). stockpiles to be in place longer than 15 days will be seeded with the permanent seed mix <br /> to prevent erosion (see Exhibit E for seed mix information). Table D-2 details a breakdown of <br /> the overall material balance of the project during mining. The Soil Storage Area is 47.1 acres <br /> and the four Pits that will be reclaimed to recreation fields are a combined 68.8 acres for a total <br /> disturbed area of 115.9 acres. <br /> Table D-2. Stormwater — Diversions and Impoundments. <br /> Surface water from storms, known as stormwater runoff, will be collected in the mining pits <br /> during operations and in the Soil Storage Area. As shown on Map C-2, the local drainage area <br /> is essentially flat. The pit will act as a sump during operations and will not have an outfall. The <br /> area consists predominantly of well drain sands. All of the runoff on site would flow towards the <br /> interior pits where it will infiltrate.
