deposit will be mined three to six feet deep using loaders and haul trucks. Final depth will be
determined by the configuration of each of the four recreation fields. Upon final excavation of
each pit, the pit will be immediately reclaimed and converted to an athletic field. Thus, no more
than one pit will be mined at a time. The groundwater table will not be encountered during
mining as the water table is currently at least 15 feet below the surface in the permit area.
Mining will progress as shown on Map C-2. All mining will be to final 3H:1V slopes on the
perimeter. The active mining highwall will be mined to the final 3H:1 V mining slope. This means
that at no point in the operations life will backfill be required for reclamation. The maximum
disturbance at any time will be at the end of the mine life when the largest amount of rangeland
requiring topsoil and revegetation is present. This worse-case scenario would be when one of
the recreation fields is mined, but has not been reclaimed or converted to a recreation field. This
worse-case scenario would also include the need to reclaim the soil storage area. This scenario
will determine the bond calculation and is discussed in detail in Exhibit L.
1.3. Equipment
Table D-1 shows the type of equipment that will be used for the operations of this site. Once
operations are complete, all equipment will be removed from the site.
Mystic Soil D-2 Lewicki 81 Associates
November 2020
