Upper Gold Links Mine
Permit M-2016-083
Amendment Application
CRG Mining LLC
Rule 6.3.4-Exhibit D—Reclamation Plan
Site disturbance in the amended area will not include underground openings, ore storage or processing,
buildings, fuel storage or handling, or temporary storage of materials; it will only consist of permanent
placement of waste rock. The reclamation plan, therefore, will be limited to finish grading of the waste
rock, ensuring the stability and integrity of the (permanent) stormwater structures, spreading available
topsoil, and seeding the areas appropriate for revegetation.
The existing 110(2) permit area already includes approved permanent waste rock disposal areas, slope
gradients, stormwater controls and onsite roadways. Wherever possible and once approved, these
types of features that will occur on the amended area will be integrated with those existing or approved
in the existing permit. Examples of this are(1)the extension of the lower waste rock dump in the
existing permit onto the upper(first)waste rock dump in the amended area; and (2) connecting the
existing buried underdrain in the permit area to the new drain to be under the amended area.
The waste rock will be angular and slopes of 2H:1V or gentler can be considered stable. All waste rock
slopes will be 2:1 or less. Since it is probable that the waste rock will generate sediment for a number of
years, the sediment pond will be designed to be permanent.
At the lower end of the site, the piped underdrain will daylight and join the natural gulch drainageway.
The sediment pond will have its outlet here also.
The stripped topsoil will be stored in several cells along the length of the amended area, up above the
footprint of the waste rock on the south hillside. The natural topsoil depth is variable, but the operator
estimates that it can be replaced to a depth of at least 6 inches, mainly over the more level parts of the
disturbed area. As shown on the Reclamation Map,within the 5.5-acre amended area, approximately
1.3 acres will be level enough to be topsoiled. There will be other disturbed surfaces within the
amended area that won't be topsoiled but will be seeded. Total areas to be seeded are estimated to be
2.0 acres.
Revegetation
The seed mix for the amended area will be the same as that approved for the existing permit area. This
mix consists of:
Canada bluegrass 2.5 Ibs PLS/ac
Alpine fescue 3.0 It
Sainfoin 1.5 It
Rocky Mtn penstemon 0.5 it
The above seeding rates are for broadcast seeding. Application of the seed will be followed by dragging
or light tilling to incorporate the seed.
