EXHIBIT H - WILDLIFE INFORMATION
Wildlife resources on the affected land are limited to the existing ground
cover of seasonal grasses and forbs. There are no trees or large shrubs on
the affected area. Ground cover in this area is approximately 60%, at best.
Use of the area by wildlife is minimal. Properties surrounding the proposed
permit area have been actively farmed.
Wildlife expected to be found on the property may include small rodents and
mammals. There are no know threatened or endangered species on the
property. As there are no trees on the site, there is no habitat for birds.
Existing wildlife in the area is not expected to be significantly impacted by
this mining operation.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife has identified the expansion area of the gravel
pit as being within their High Priority Habitat for Sage Grouse.
There have been no sightings of sage grouse since the pit was opened in
2009 but the operators will comply with the request to not disturb any new
phases of the pit expansion between March 1' and July 151 of each year.
