Wade Wymore of GCC Enegy
accompanied the inspection and represented the operator.
The weather was clear and dry at the time of the inspection,but as observed by sediment movement throughout the
Hay Gulch area, and videos that GCC staff had receoded on 7/31,the area had experienced intense rainstorms over
the previous weekend. GCC did not have results of the precipitation amounts from the storms on 7/29 and 7/31.
Staff who were present on 7/31 had video of the intesity of the storm and the flow of water across the parking lot
area. Consultation with CoCoRhas(a precipitation reporting cooperative)found that a geographically nearby
station located adjacent to Morman reservior, Station CO-LP-83 Hesperus 9.8 SW recorded 0.85"rainfall on 7/29,
0.40",rainfall on 7/30,and 0.37"precipitation on 7/31. Monsoon storms in this area tend to be very localized and
can vary greatly in a short distance.
As part of GCC's agreement with La Plata County and the County SUP, improvements and reconstruction of La
Plata County Road 120 is ongoing.
AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS—Rule 5.02.4(1):
Mine records were verified at the mine office.
