Overspill materials from the asphalt plant operation will be cleaned up on a weekly basis and
temporarily stored at the west end of the process and equipment area shown on Map C-2. The
storage area will consist of a compacted earthen berm lined with a 30 mil synthetic liner.
The following list is the best estimate as to the mobile equipment which will be used onsite throughout
the mine life:
- 4 to 6 Front end loaders
- 1 to 2 Bulldozers
- 1 Motor Grader
- 1 Fueling Truck
- Several off road haul trucks
- Various 24 ton and 14 ton road haul trucks as necessary to move the products to the final
destination.
- 1 to 2 track hoe
No night mining activity is scheduled for the operation; however portable lighting may be used within
the pit from time to time. The portable lights will only be used at the bottom of the pit for the purpose
of after hour equipment maintenance and crushing activities. Due to the depth, the surrounding
topography, and the buffers around the property, lighting is not expected to cause a nuisance to any
neighbors. Furthermore, lighting will be shielded in order to further ensure that the lights do not cause
a nuisance. The portable mining equipment such as loaders, dozers, trucks and excavators will be
serviced on an as -needed basis onsite. Upon reclamation, all equipment will be removed from the
site.
There will be no new fencing around the operation, since it is inside private property, and there is a
buffer of at least 30' on all sides of the excavation within the permit area. In some cases, the permit
area is in line with the property boundary. No problems are expected with vandalism. It is extremely
unlikely that any toxic or acid -producing materials will be encountered during the mining operation
since the past mining shows that the material is alluvial in nature. However, in the event that such
materials are encountered, they will be covered with subsoil and topsoil from the stockpiles to the
same depths outlined in the reclamation plan and no more mining will occur in this area.
The operator commits to clearly marking the permit boundary with stakes surveyed on site.
The site will use all existing roads to haul the product to its final destination. It is planned that the
mined material may be used to re -surface existing roads, make concrete aggregate or provide new
road base for any new roads within an economic distance to the site.
If any "reportable quantity" of hazardous material or waste is released into the environment, the
operator will notify staff of the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety as well as all other
appropriate local, state and federal agencies. This is more completely described by an excerpt from
the February 8, 2002 DRMS memorandum regarding Minerals Program Notification of Toxic or
Hazardous Materials Spills at Mine Sites."
White River City
July 2022 D-7 Lewicki 81 Associates
