June 29,2022 C-1981-018/Deserado Mine CCW <br /> windrows of refuse have been partially spear out on top. The slops of the pile were stable with minor rills <br /> observed. The rills have been documented in previous Division inspection reports. The rills have been observed <br /> to not adversely affect the slope's stability. The RP-A refuse are was actively having refuse placed on it. The <br /> refuse was being placed in windrows to allow for additional drying. The refuse site is the newest at the mine. The <br /> height of the pile is low and the base of refuse material is still being placed. <br /> ROADS—Rule 4.03 <br /> Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3),Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4), Surfacing and Maintenance4.03.1(5) and <br /> (6)/4.03.2(5) and(6),Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7): <br /> Access roads throughout the mine site were stable with no erosional features. There were no indications <br /> of instability. <br /> The haul road was in good condition during the inspection. The road was stable with no erosional features <br /> observed. The ditch extending from the County Road 65 intersection to the main facilities area was stable. The <br /> ditch was clear of debris and blockages. The straw bales placed in the ditch had been recently replaced. <br /> RECLAMATION SUCCESS -Rule 4.15,Rule 3: <br /> The RP-1 refuse pile is the only reclaimed refuse disposal pile at the mine site. The pile was stable with <br /> mature vegetative cover(Photo 6). There were no erosional features observed. The perimeter ditches extend from <br /> the sides of the pile to the RP-1 pond. The ditches were vegetated and stable. There were no indications of <br /> blockages or erosion. <br /> SUPPORT FACILITIES -Rule 4.04: <br /> Support Facilities at the mine sit that were inspected included;the Prep Plant,the Explosives Storage <br /> Area,the Fuel Storage,The B Vent Shaft No. 1,RDH-2,RDH-4,Nitrogen Plant No. 1, Slot Storage, and the <br /> Conveyor Corridor. All support facilities inspected were well kept and in good repair. The pads for the facilities <br /> were stable with no erosional features observed. Pads with berms were stable and vegetated. No off-site impacts <br /> were observed. <br /> SIGNS AND MARKERS—Rule 4.02: <br /> The mine Identification sign were located to the left side of the road on County Road 65 at the entrance to <br /> the permit boundary. The sign displayed the current contact information for the operator and the Division. The <br /> sign also displayed the mine permit id number. <br /> Throughout the inspection of the site,topsoil markers were identified on top of topsoil stockpiles. The signs were <br /> posted in easy to spot locations. <br /> Drill pads were marked with signs identifying the type of borehole and borehole identification number. <br /> TOPSOIL—Rule 4.06 <br /> Removal 4.06.2; Substitute Materials 4.06.4(4); Storage and Protection 4.06.3;Redistribution 4.06.4: <br /> Topsoil stockpile are located in various locations throughout the mine site. Topsoil is stockpiled near <br /> mining related disturbances to minimize transportation and push distances when reclamation activities occur. <br /> Topsoil piles were covered with vegetation and stable.
