June 29,2022 C-1981-018/Deserado Mine CCW <br /> trash rack on the primary spillway was clear of debris. Discharge to Scullion Gulch was occurring. The <br /> embankment was stable with vegetation. There were no erosional features. The PP-1 pond is located on the <br /> middle bench near the prep plant. The pond was at about one half full. There was no discharge from the pond. <br /> The embankments were vegetated and stable. No indications of erosion were observed. The PP-2 pond is located <br /> on the upper facilities bench. The pond was full but no discharging. The embankment was stable with vegetative <br /> cover. No erosional concerns were identified. <br /> One pond is located at the northern base of the reclaimed RP-1 refuse pile. The pond was dry during the <br /> inspection. The trash rack on the spillway was clear. The embankment was vegetated and stable with no erosion. <br /> The RP-2/3 pond is located at the northeastern base of the RP-2/3/4 refuse pile. The pond consists of a west,east <br /> and main cell. The main cell was dry during the inspection. Both the west and east cells were damp with small <br /> puddles of water in them. The trash rack on the main cell's primary spillway was clear. The embankments were <br /> stable and vegetated. There were no erosional concerns noted. <br /> The RP-4 pond is located at the northwestern base of the RP-2/3/4 refuse pile. The pond was dry. The primary <br /> spillway was clear of debris. The embankment was vegetated and stable. No erosional features were observed. <br /> The RP-5 pond is located to the north of the RP-5a refuse pile. The pond was empty during the inspection. The <br /> spillway was clear of debris. The embankment had no erosional features and was observed to be stable with <br /> vegetative cover. <br /> The B Seam Dewatering System No. 1 was holding water in all of its cells. There was discharge from the Last <br /> Chance Pond(Photo 2)into Red Wash. The concrete spillway was stable with no blockages. The embankments <br /> for the system were stable with vegetative cover. There were no indications of erosion. <br /> The B Seam Dewatering System No. 2 was inactive. The Upper cell was dry(Photo 3). The second cell was <br /> holding water in it. There was no discharge from the second cell. The embankments of the dewatering system <br /> were vegetated and stable. No erosional features were identified. <br /> There are two ponds located to the north of the Slot Storage facility,the SS-1 pond and the SS-2 pond. The SS-1 <br /> pond was holding a puddle of water in it. The spillway was observed to be clear. The embankments were stable <br /> with vegetation. No erosional features were seen. The SS-2 pond was dry(Photo 4). The spillway was clear. <br /> The embankment was stable with vegetative cover. No indications of erosion were observed. <br /> One pond and on sump are located on the south side of the rail loadout. The RS-1 sump was dry during the <br /> inspection. The embankments were vegetated and stable. No erosion was observed. The RR-1 pond was also <br /> dry. The pond's embankment was stable with vegetation. There were no erosional features observed. <br /> PROCESSING WASTE/COAL MINE WASTE PILES—Rule 4.10 and 4.11 <br /> Drainage Control; Surface Stabilization; Placement: <br /> There are three active coal refuse piles at the mine site. The RP-2/3/4 pile is located the furthest east along <br /> the haul road(Photo 5). The pile had windrows of refuse placed on top of it. The slopes of the pile were stable <br /> with minor rills on them. These rills have been noted in previous Division inspection reports. The rills have no <br /> affected the stability of the refuse pile. The RP-5a refuse pile is the second furthest east along the haul road.
