2. Quilts <br />Quilts shall conform to the requirements of Federal Specification <br />UU-P-264. <br />3. Burlap <br />Burlap shall be of commercial quality. Burlap may be used for un- <br />exposed concrete surfaces, end when used shall be in not less than 2 <br />layers. <br />4. Polyethylene Film <br />Polyethylene film shall conform to the requirements of Federal. <br />Specification L-P-378x; it shall be at least 0.006" in thickness. <br />5. Liquid Membrane Seal (Curing Compound) <br />Liquid membrane seals shall conform to the following requirements: <br />a. Liquid membrane shall contain an opaque, white, finely ground <br />pigment or a fugitive dye. It shall not react with the <br />components of concrete and shall not contain oils, waxes, or <br />other materials which would prevent bonding of traffic paints. <br />The resulting film shall be continuous, uniform and free of <br />pinholes, bubbles, or blisters. It shall not darken the hardened <br />concrete. The fugitive dye shall have sufficient color to be <br />distinctly visible for at least 30 minutes after application and <br />to disappear within 7 days. <br />b. The membrane shall not peel; it shall disappear from the <br />surface by gradual disintegration from exposure to the <br />elements over a period of not less than 30 days nor more than <br />1 year. Within 60 days after application, the membrane shall <br />be capable of being completely and readily removed by means <br />of steel wire brushes or other abrasive which will not injure <br />the concrete surface. <br />c. When applied by pressure spray to a troweled, vertical, damp <br />concrete surface at the rate specified, the material shall <br />adhere to the surface in a continuous, tenacious film without <br />running off or appreciably sagging. <br />d. Average moisture loss shall not exceed the following amounts <br />per square centimeter of exposed surface. <br />At 24 hours - 0.0116 grams <br />At 72 hours - 0.0232 grams <br />2.02 Mixes <br />The concrete mix shall meet the following requirements: <br />A. Design Minimum -Laboratory Compressive Strength at 26 days shall be 4000 <br />psi. <br />B. Minimum Cement Content - 6-1/4 bags/cu.yd. <br />C.
