• D. Straw Mulch <br />1. Straw or hay mulch shall be applied at a rate of 2,000 pounds per <br />acre. <br />2. Straw or hay mulch, if used, shall be anchored with a straw crimper. <br />E. Any changes in the mulching methods must be coordinated with the ap- <br />propriate regulatory authority, ARCO Coal Company and the Engineer. <br />F. Irrigation of newly seeded areas shall continue as weather conditions dictate <br />to assure satisfactory germination. <br />In general, the Contractor shall be responsible for maintaining, watering and <br />weed control of seeded areas until final acceptance of the project or for a <br />maintenance period of seven (7) weeks after the time of seeding if seeding <br />takes place at the end of the project. Areas in which there is not a <br />satisfactory stand (40 plants per S. F. minimum) at the expiration of the <br />maintenance period shall be reseeded. <br />Sprinkling of the seeded areas shall be carefully done in such manner as to <br />avoid standing water, surface wash or scour. <br />_~• <br />r1 <br />L <br />02821-5 <br />
