June 24,2022 C-1980-004/McClane Canyon Mine CCW <br /> Two sups are located at the portals bench. One sump is located on the east side and the other on the north side. <br /> The east sump was holding a small puddle of water in it(Photo 3). There was no discharge through the spillway. <br /> The grate over the spillway was clear of blockages. There were no indications of instability. The north sump was <br /> dry. The outlet for the sump was clear of debris. There were no indications of erosional features or instability. <br /> PROCESSING WASTE/COAL MINE WASTE PILES—Rule 4.10 and 4.11 <br /> Drainage Control; Surface Stabilization; Placement: <br /> There is one coal waste pile located to the east of the sediment pond. The waste pile was used for refuse <br /> during operations;however it is mostly now used to place material removed during pond and sump cleanings. The <br /> pile was stable and no erosional concerns were identified(Photo 4). There were no off-site impacts observed. <br /> ROADS—Rule 4.03 <br /> Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3),Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4), Surfacing and Maintenance4.03.1(5)and <br /> (6)/4.03.2(5) and(6),Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7): <br /> The haul road extends from the portals bench to the mine office pad and through the entrance/exit to the <br /> permit area. The haul road was in good condition,there were no indications of instability or erosion. The ditches <br /> for the haul road were clean and stable. <br /> SIGNS AND MARKERS—Rule 4.02: <br /> The mine identification sign was displayed next to the gate at the entrance to the mine site. The sign <br /> displayed the current information regarding the operator,the permit and the Division. <br /> The topsoil pile marker was placed in a clear location on top of the topsoil pile. The sign was in good condition <br /> and easy to spot. <br /> TOPSOIL—Rule 4.06 <br /> Removal 4.06.2; Substitute Materials 4.06.4(4); Storage and Protection 4.06.3;Redistribution 4.06.4: <br /> The topsoil pile was stable with vegetative cover(Photo 5). There were no erosional features observed. <br /> The perimeter ditch was stable.
