The inspection was conducted by Clayton Wein of the <br /> Division. Chuck Selingo of ARC McClane Canyon, LLC (AMC) was present for the inspection. <br /> The weather was partly cloudy with a temperature of 72 degrees F. The ground conditions were <br /> dry. <br /> AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS—Rule 5.02.4(1): <br /> The records for the McClane Canyon Mine are located at the office of J. E. Stover and Associates in <br /> Grand Junction,Colorado. The records were well kept and up to date. The pond is located east of the mine office along the haul <br /> road. The pond was holding a small amount of water at the time of the inspection(Photo 1). The level of the <br /> water had not reached the primary spillway. The spillway was clear of debris. The embankment for the pond was <br /> stable with vegetative cover. There were no indications of erosional features. <br /> Two sumps are located on the west side of the office pad. One sump is on the south side of the haul road and the <br /> other is on the north side of the haul road. The sumps were observed to be dry. There was enough capacity in the <br /> sumps to properly function. Silt fences were located at the outlet of the sumps. The west sump's silt fence was <br /> slightly slumped over(Photo 2). Mr. Selingo said that he would have the silt fence repaired. <br /> Sumps located along the haul road treat runoff coming to the sediment pond from the portals bench. The sumps <br /> were holding small amounts of water in them. There was no discharge occurring.
