Lewicki & Associates
ENGINEERING I GEOLOGY I ENVIRONMENTAL
April 11, 2022
Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety
1313 Sherman St, Rm 215
Denver, CO 80203
(303) 866-3567
Delivered Via Email
RE: 23 Road Pit, Permit M-1979-089
Technical Revision
Elam Construction is applying fora technical revision to the 112c permit for M-1979-089, better
known as the 23 Road Pit. This technical revision updates the reclamation plan and bond to better
align with the anticipated reclamation conditions onsite as mining is drawing to a close. The primary
change brought about by this technical revision is the configuration of the groundwater lakes.
Roughly 41 acres of lake distributed amongst multiple lakes will be the new reclamation plan. This
change does not affect the post mine land use as it is currently approved; it is merely a
reconfiguration of the total lake area.
The groundwater lakes are to be split amongst the areas shown on the attached Map F-1. Four of
the lakes will be permanent water bodies surrounded by rangeland. One lake, located on the
Precast Concepts property, is being backfilled over time by the landowner. This backfilling was
approved in previous technical revisions. The land use for the Precast Concepts property is
industrial under a City of Grand Junction approved site plan (SPR-2005-08).
Regards,
//7/
Ben Langenfeld, P.E.
Lewicki &Associates, PLLC
benl@lewicki.biz
(720) 842-531, ex. 1
23 Road Pit Technical
Revision 1 a Lewicki 8t Associates
April 2022
