exploratory boring will be grouted/cemented and plugged after the completion of
drilling in accordance with State regulations.
IV. Operation and Reclamation Measures
6. Describe how roads will be reclaimed or returned to their pre-prospecting(or better)
condition):
BLM Roads and Trails
Per communication with the BLM, improvements to existing PRIMARY access roads will
be retained at the termination of the Project. PRIMARY access roads are defined as
existing BLM inventory roads(per BLM provided shapefiles). Upgrades to existing non-
invetoried TRAILS on BLM ground will be reclaimed to pre-existing conditions or better.
TRAILS are defined as existing access routes(single and double track)that are not
identified within the BLM road inventory but have been confirmed as pre-existing from
aerial photography and on-site confirmation.
Upon the completion of the project,Tarsis will reclaim project access as follows:
1. BLM PRIMARY roads—to remain in improved condition
a. Patch any remaining ruts/potholes from project-related travel
2. BLM TRAILS—reclaim to pre-existing conditions,to include:
a. Recontour as needed
b. Pull out earthen berms
c. Remove connections to primary roads per pre-existing conditions
3. BLM -New temporary access routes—reclaim to pre-existing conditions,to include:
a. Rip the established roadbed
b. Recontour as needed
c. Reseed following ripping/recontouring with BLM/State/County approved
seed mix and agreed upon distribution rates
d. Spread brushed/cleared materials across road
San Miguel County Roads
Discussions with San Miguel County and operating stipulations provided for approval of
the SMC Special Use Permit(SUP) require the following reclamation considerations with
respect to improvements to SMC managed road ways(CR 23R and CR P23) and
temporary access/spur junctions:
1. Improvements and associated water control features created on existing SMC roads
CR 23R and CR P23 (and within the ROW)will be left in place. Improvements will be
constructed in a manner such that future maintenance requirements are avoided
(e.g., no culverts). This ensures that the area can gradually return to natural
conditions, and that SMC will not have any outstanding maintenance to perform
once Tarsis reclaims the project area.
2. Temporary access spurs from existing SMC roads will be removed;drainage will be
re-established within the ROW.Temporary alignments within the ROW will be:
