Apri16, 2022 C-1981-008/New Horizon Mine JHB
healthy. There remains some low spots in the Benson west pasture, but these lower areas of the field do not
appear to be pooling water or exhibiting die off.
We observed the Irrigated Cropland(Morgan property)in Section 1, from the slope north of BB road. ERMR is
working with the farmer regarding the areas affected by the pigweed in 202 LThe alfalfa in the irrigated cropland
field is greening up. The grassed swale at the northwest corner of the Irrigated Cropland is holding well with well
established grass. This feature is functioning well to reduce gully formation as the irrigation water and
precipitation runoff drains off the field. The silt fence at the northern extent of this filed is properly installed and
functioning as designed.
We stopped at the irrigated pasture in Section 6,GW46 property. The pasture was greening up nicely with no sign
of bare areas of location exhibiting noxious weed establishment. The side roll irrigation sprinklers are on site.
The irrigation water has not come in yet, so irrigation had initiated on his field for the 2022 growing season.
The vegetative cover on the dryland pasture in Section 6, south of the facilities area shows good cover. No
problems were noted with this dryland pasture.
The irrigated pasture reference area south of the facilities area remains fenced,no livestock was in this pasture at
the time of the inspection. No concerns were noted at this time with this irrigated pasture reference area.
SUPPORT FACILITIES-Rule 4.04:
The facilities area remains well organized and neat. The operator continues to reduce the items stored on
site. We saw no evidence of trash or other uncontained items around the facilities area.
TOPSOIL—Rule 4.06
Removal 4.06.2; Substitute Materials 4.06.4(4); Storage and Protection 4.06.3;Redistribution 4.06.4:
The topsoil stockpile have identification signs visible. One sign had fallen down on the eastern Topsoil
Stockpile 12. Tony noted that he would get this sign reset. Some of the Topsoil stockpile 12 piles still are thin on
vegetative cover, however, these piles are not exhibiting erosion or weed infestation.
Topsoil stockpile D continues to have a good stable vegetative cover. On Topsoil stockpile E footprint perennial
vegetation is beginning to establish. There was a small patch towards the south of this regraded footprint that may
have knapweed emerging. The operator will need to monitor this as the plants begin growing for a positive
identification, and control if this patch proves to be noxious species.
DOCUMENTS RECEIVED NA
OTHER(SPECIFY) NA
ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS/COMPLIANCE
No enforcement actions were initiated as a result of this inspection, nor are any pending.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 7
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 3
Page 3 of 6
