0 Ga:DILD RUSH
AOF E X P E 0,' IT 10, N' S,
To mediate this, we excavated ten feet on either side of the portal to relieve the pressure on
the upright timbers. Some timbers were broken in multiple spots and they were removed.
We estimate that we have excavated thirty-eight to thirty-nine feet of the collapsed portal with
no evidence of a steel door, nor any hard rock surface. This leads us to believe that the
historical reporting of Homestake's closure of the site is in error.
It is the professional opinion of Gold Rush Expeditions, Inc. and our excavation team, that we
will not encounter the hard rock portal for another 40-50', at the point where the surface
grading is evident.
To safely proceed, it was determined that a larger excavator would be needed to account for
the height of the dirt walls around the portal.
We terminated operations for the winter and opened public access through the property. We
backfilled 15'of material back into the portal to make sure that no one would be injured trying
to get into the portal. We eliminated any open access into the portal We also placed signs
around the site identifying Danger from open mine workings and placed Claim marker signs to
keep other prospectors from digging into the workings.
We estimate to have excavated a volume of 30'wide by 40'deep by 20' high. This is a total of
24,000 cubic which is estimated to be about 912 tons (assuming 1 cubic foot of dirt is
approximately 76 Ibs.).
2022
Our intent is to return in the last week of June 2022. We will plan on working 7 days total. We
will be renting a larger excavator(Cat 336 or similar) and complete the excavation to the portal.
It is estimated that this will require us to dig in another 50' into the previously compacted
material. Total length of the exaction is estimated to be 80-85'. (Please see attached diagrams).
We will also bring a loader and a skid steer to move material from the portal to a staging point
on the north side of the claim.
Once we have breached the portal it will be necessary to let the mine"breathe". This means
letting any bad air or gasses dissipate through natural open-air flow. Usual standard time is 48
hours for this.
While the mine is airing out, we will place the excavator and or the loader in the portal to block
any public access. We will also mark off the area in orange barrels with"Active Mine Operation"
signs.
Once the mine has had time to air, we will be sending in a Spot (unmanned robot-"dog"by
Boston Dynamics) Unit with a 4-gas monitor and Lidar system to start mapping the mine and
define any areas of concern in the mine. This should take approximately 12 hours to complete,
or 2 workdays.
Gold Rush Expeditions,Inc."
385-218-21381goldrushDgoldrushexpeditions.com -331 Rio Grande Street,Suite 201,Salt Lake City,Utah 84101
