Because of this obligation,you must not only prevent obvious <br /> unsafe acts on the part of those you work with,but you must anticipate potential hazards as well.All <br /> employees must recognize that working in an unsafe manner is counter-productive.Most important,each <br /> employee is encouraged and empowered to stop and take corrective measures if an unsafe condition is <br /> identified and demonstrate leadership ability by setting a good example. <br /> To make our approach to safety more effective and uniform throughout the organization,each employee <br /> receives our safety manual outlining our Safety Program and Safety Commitment. We feel this will be a <br /> useful tool to help in understanding and implementing our mutual responsibilities. <br /> 1.2 Statement of Policy/ Zero Injury Safety Policy <br /> It is the policy of Iron Woman Construction to strive for the highest safety standards on our projects. <br /> Safety does not occur by chance but rather achieved through planning and dedication. Employees at all <br /> levels must work diligently to execute the company's policy of maintaining safety and health and <br /> developing a Zero Injury Safety Culture. <br /> Iron Woman Construction's safety program has been developed to assure compliance with Federal, State, <br /> and Local regulations with particular emphasis on the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 <br /> (OSHA). It is the obligation of all employees to be knowledgeable of the standards established by these <br /> agencies and to implement the rules and regulations contained. <br /> Regard for the safety of the general public,our own employees and the employees of our subcontractors <br /> and other contractors is a responsibility shared by all levels of our organization. We intend to prevent any <br /> human suffering.Accidents,even minor ones,cause pain both physical and mental. Prevention of injury <br /> and illness is a condition of employment. <br /> Every member of this project team has specific safety responsibilities. These responsibilities begin with <br /> the project manager and site supervisor and extend to the foremen and crew levels. <br /> The Iron Woman Construction Company Safety Manual is incorporated by reference into this Site- <br /> Specific Safety Plan. <br />
