The <br /> Reservoir is located in the E 1/2 of the SE'/n Section 7, Township 5 North, Range 64 West of the 6th P.M., and <br /> is a part of the Journey Venture gravel pit (DRMS M-2008-080). A slurry wall was constructed around the <br /> mining area. The slurry wall was provisionally approved on December 7, 2018 while active mining <br /> continued to occur within the liner boundary. The mining is now complete. In order for the liner to be <br /> approved for water storage the operator was required to perform a final modified 30-day leak test. The <br /> final modified slurry wall liner leak test commenced on September 30, 2021 and concluded on October 30, <br /> 2021. Site inspection was performed by our office on October 26, 2021 to review site conditions and the <br /> leak test results. <br /> Your report dated November 15, 2021 provides the liner summary and leak test result. The test data <br /> provided indicates that the reservoir has been lined to the performance standard referenced in the <br /> August 1999 State Engineer Guidelines for Lining Criteria for Gravel Pits (1999 SEO Guidelines). Meeting <br /> the performance standard requires that during reservoir operations all water inflows and outflows for <br /> the liner perimeter enclosed area be accounted for on a weekly basis. <br /> With this liner approval, Journey Venture Reservoir is now classified as a lined reservoir in accordance with <br /> the 1999 SEO Guidelines. Water shall not be impounded in the reservoir except pursuant to lawful <br /> diversions allowed by statute or decree. At all other times, all inflow of water into the reservoir from any <br /> source, including precipitation and ground water inflows shall be removed to prevent illegal storage of <br /> water.
