December 8, 2021 C-1981-008/New Horizon Mine JHB <br /> spoil springs measured 409 gpm(204 gpm on one gauge plus 205 gpm on the other gauge). The discharge water <br /> was clear,with a slight Sulphur smell. Tuttle draw was running,as well. <br /> Due to the wet conditions of the ground surface,access to Pond 12 and Pond 15 was not conducted,due to access <br /> concerns. <br /> SUPPORT FACILITIES-Rule 4.04: <br /> ERMR has recently reclaimed several monitoring wells within the permit area. GW-N39 location was in <br /> thick grass near the southern extent of the permit area. This disturbance was not detected within the thick grass. <br /> The operator will need to submit the well abandonment reports as per Rule 4.07.3(2)with an abandonment report <br /> submitted to the Division in accordance with Rule 4.07.3(2)(c). <br /> Fuels were stored at the facilities area in appropriate secondary containment. <br /> No problems were noted at the facilities area. <br /> TOPSOIL—Rule 4.06 <br /> Removal 4.06.2; Substitute Materials 4.06.4(4); Storage and Protection 4.06.3;Redistribution 4.06.4: <br /> The Topsoil Stockpile 13 was nicely graded and drilled,but little vegetation has become established. At <br /> this time there were no obvious Tilling or weed infestation. ERMR will need to continue to monitor for these <br /> issues,. If stabilizing vegetation doesn't begin to establish in spring 2022,ERMR may need to reseed a temporary <br /> stabilizing seed mix. <br /> The topsoil stockpiles remaining at the facilities area,Topsoil D,Topsoil C, and topsoil H,were well shaped, <br /> bermed and identification signs were visible. The regraded topsoil stockpile footprints of the southern portion of 1 <br /> stockpile H, and E were nicely graded. They both had been seeded,but due to the dry fall,little vegetation had <br /> established prior to the cold weather.
