Reclamation Plan Exhibit E
1 . General Reclamation Plan
The total area to be reclaimed under this permit is the roughly 87 acres of disturbed area out of the
200-acre permit area. Reclamation plans can be seen in Map F-1. Reclamation will occur
concurrently with mining progression in two phases. The first phase involves the currently disturbed
area, approximately 62 acres. An area in the western portion of this phase, marked in Map C-2, has
already been backfilled, graded, and topsoiled (approx. 11 acres). The second phase of reclamation
will be of the new disturbance area in the northern portion of the site.
The goal of reclamation is to repurpose the land to be used as reclamation. This will consist of
backfilling and grading all mining slopes to a 3H:1V slope, which can be seen in Map C-3. All
permanent and portable facilities such as the scale house and office will be removed. Visibility and
stormwater berms will be flattened and aid in regrading the site. The entire disturbed area will be
topsoiled and revegetated as the final steps of reclamation.
During all mining phases, approximately twelve inches of topsoil and one to three feet of
overburden will be removed. These materials will be stockpiled on site, with a portion of the
overburden being used in stormwater and visibility berms. Stockpiles remaining in place more than
90 days will be vegetated to prevent erosion. The stockpiled materials will aid in reclamation of the
site. Table E-1 shows the volumes needed to reclaim as well as the estimated volumes of topsoil
and overburden that will be removed prior to mining. The phase 1 volumes are delineated by what
has already been reclaimed and what will be reclaimed as mining progresses.
Table E-1 — Reclamation Volumes
Phase Topsoil Overburden Topsoil Overburden Backfill
Stripped (CY Stripped (CY) Required (CY) Required (CY)
M r iaii, co.,iio<.r„r aarr,,
, i rr.;
i
ri//:;//////%/U%%„/„ •,inn,// .//"n%°"%0
Previously Reclaimed* 17,746 35,493 17,746 16,593
11 acres
Remaining Reclamation 82,280 164,560 82,280 36,000
51 acres
„i,'t
[Ir
*The previously reclaimed 11 acres have been backfilled, graded, and topsoiled as of 2021.
After each phase is completed, the mining slopes will be flattened and a grader will be used to
create a 3H:1V slope using stockpiled overburden. The slopes will be compacted to prevent erosion
and for stabilization purposes. No more than 500 feet of active mining highwall will exist at any time
without being regraded to reclamation slopes. All visibility berms and stormwater berms will be
flattened during reclamation The stockpiled topsoil will be used to replace a single twelve-inch lift
across the entire disturbed area. All disturbed areas will then be revegetated with a native seed mix
Spring Creek Pit E-1 Q Lewicki 8r Associates
September 2021
