G-4. WATER REGULATORY INFORMATION:
1. NOTE: This site is designed and is NOT EXPECTED to have ANY STORM WATER OR PROCESS
WATER DISCHARGE FROM THE SITE.
2. Storm water management/discharge: The Applicant will obtain coverage under a Colorado Discharge
Permit System permit for any discharge of storm water, dewatering flows, and process water, before
initiating mining activities. Coverage will be requested under the general storm water discharge permit
COR500000,sand and gravel, issued by CDPHE-WQCD, as required for mining and land disturbance
of this size. The CDPS permit is the equivalent of an NPDES permit for the state of Colorado. It is not
planned to discharge such waters, but rather,to allow that water to infiltrate into undisturbed terrace
alluvium. This exhibit(G-1)contains the information also required for the storm water management plan
(SWMP).
3. Water rights/use: The landowner will provide water for mining operations by off-site purchase and truck
delivery from permitted/registered sources for municipal and industrial uses, as needed. Permits for
purchase, use, and transport of water will be obtained as necessary.
4. Waste water disposal and treatment: No sanitary waste water is expected to be generated by mining
activities; chemical latrines and holding tanks for sanitary facilities will be used as necessary. No non-
sanitary waste water is expected to be discharged from the site; if waste water is generated by mining
or related activities(such as washwater), it will be retained on-site, and recycled or allowed to
evaporate/infiltrate.
5. Wetlands information (USACE, NRCS,or FWS jurisdiction): Review of National Wetland Inventory and
NRCS maps for the area show no wetlands delineated and inventoried in the area. The area was
inspected on the ground and via aerial reconnaissance photography for the presence of wetlands.
There are no features on the site which are subject to regulation by USACE or other agencies as
"waters of the United States"under sections 10 or 404 of the Clean Water Act.
Figure G-5.
