ff ,
To +13038328106 1 Page 12 of 14 2021-09-08 22 22 20 GMT 13032008630 From Ben Langenfeld
r
•k,
,
i
8. V*ed Control
Meas' es will be employed for the control of any noxious weed species. The objective of this
weed lanagement plan is to control undesirable plants on the Cerise Mine property. Plants
identifik"'through the Colorado Noxious Weed Act(C.R.S. 35-5.5) and the Garfield County
Noxioq Weed List as undesirable and designated for management within the county. These
plants' entified as noxious weeds will be managed by control measures. A Weed Control Plan
will bettilized as follows:
1) !Each April, a weed survey will be taken of the permit area.
;f a
2) ,If any patches or plants have been identified, they will be sprayed by backpack sprayer
or 4-wheeler using chemicals that are approved for use by the weed control staff of
'Garfield County.
3) j' er reclamation, weed surveys and spraying will continue until the perennial cover and
oduction of the site have met DRMS requirements and bond release has been
' ttained.
The D11sion and Garfield County staff will be consulted regarding any weed infestation areas
and ar, ,,control measures prior to their initiation. The plan does not contemplate total weed
remove on the property. Past experience has shown that some initial weed cover in the first
year f fiwing the retopsoiling is beneficial to the reclamation effort in rangeland site. Weeds
tend ovide shade for new grasses, are a means of holding snow on the seedbed longer and
prote i * it from wind and water erosion until the planted species have taken hold.
During„ 'I phases of the mining operation the permit area will be monitored closely every year,
throug ('which the operator may determine if any additional weeds have grown. If any new
specig of weeds are found, Garfield County and the Division will be consulted in order to
forma to the best plan for the new infestation.
,c
a•,
jFI
t.
sr
,c
wt
.t.
rise Mine
E 5 I.ewicki 8i Associates
i tt
ii
W.
•,t
IP.
