OJRAY SLVER MINES
flow in a stormwater ditch on the south side of the waste pad and down the driveway to a ditch on the
southwestern side of the drive. As the water flow reached the first corner of the drive about half
continues over the edge into lush hillside prior to reaching Governor Creek, the other half of the water
took a hard turn to east(Figure 2), continuing to follow the driveway. Of the water that continued down
the drive, some entered the lush hillside, and the remainder of the flow went down the drive,to the road,
and entered Governor Creek where the road crosses the creek.
OSMI proposes sampling the Liberty Portal in September, when snowmelt and rainfall are unlikely to be
confounding factors, for surface water parameters(see attached Surface Water Analysis Quote). If the
portal is flowing, flow measurements will be taken using either a volumetric-time(demarked gallon zip
lock bag and stopwatch)method or using a portable cutthroat flume. OSMI will evaluate the area around
the Liberty for water ways, water sources, and other disturbance.
OSMI will consider data generated from sampling and characterization prior to creating a plan to manage
the Liberty Portal reclamation.
Please do not hesitate to call me with concerns or questions at 970-325-9830.
Sincerely,
6-14-
Brian K.
