Basically, the mine is shallower then originally thought by z20 feet. The method of mining
reduced the active mining area and with the amount of reject material available it allows for
backfilling as mining progresses. This reduces the backf ill material needed to be placed on the
slopes because it leaves the temporary slopes at 2:1 or less and allows for a cut/fill method of
final sloping instead of backfilling. The reclamation activities then become sloping using a cut/fill
method, recoiling and seeding the entire area. The working face is decreased to 1,000 feet
instead of the 1,700 ft. originally proposed and the partially reclaimed slopes are reduced from
1,200 ft to 1,000 ft. with no backfilling needed, only cut/filling grading along the reject material
backfill face.
Once the scale house and scale are moved to the SW entrance it will open the area up to
mining progressing to the north along the entire east-west working face. The western limit of the
35 acres is approximately 265 feet east of the fence that bisects the permit and the 35 acres do
not include the School house area except where a small amount of topsoil is temporally stored.
Technical Revision - Map Exhibit 1 shows the current areas of disturbance, the associated sizes
of each area and the location of the proposed 35 acres to be bonded at this time.
August 12, 2021 3
