Colorado Crushing, Inc.
Perrino Pit - Technical Revision
M-2017-007
This Technical Revision is to change the primary entrance from the northeast to the southwest,
change the disturbance area allowed at one time from 20.0 acres to 35.0 acres, and reevaluate
the Financial Warranty for this increased disturbance.
Primary Entrance relocation
In the original permit application the proposed entrance was original where the landowners private
drive enters the mine property in the south east corner of the permit area. This was changed to
the northeast corner during adequacy because it is unclear if that road could be used. During the
County permitting process the Commissioner made that the original entrance on to CR 614.1. A
copy of the County resolution is attached showing that conditions of approval. The existing
entrance will still be used as a secondary entrance to serve customers in that direction. A Revised
Exhibit B - Vicinity Map is attached showing the revised entrance location.
Mining Plan Change (increase disturbance)
Attached is a revised Exhibit D changing the discussion on the primary access point, the increase
to the allowed disturbance and increase slope reclamation distances. Only the paragraphs that
are affected by these revisions have been changed as appropriate. A full copy of Exhibit 0-
Mining Plan is provided for the record with the pages dated to note the changes made. A redline
copy of the changed areas is provided for your review. A distinction is made to remove the
maximum disturbance allowed and call it the maximum bonded disturbance. This is done so in the
future if more area is needed only a Financial Warranty reevaluation will be needed.
Financial Warranty
This evaluation serves 2 purposes. The first is to determine if the current warranty is adequate
to cover the amount of reclamation activities need at the facility at this time and to evaluate it
for allowing an increase to 35 acres of bonded disturbance.
The current bond ($86,000.00) is adequacy to cover the current amount of reclamation work
needed at the mine at this time. That bond is based on there be a large amount of backfilling
along the exterior slope, an assumption that the mine would be 45 feet deep and the volume
needed to complete the active mining area slopes is much greater then the current conditions
when the mine is an average of 25 feet deep not 45 ft.
Exhibit L - Reclamation Costs was revised based on having 35 acres bonded, this is a 15 acres
increase but due to the actual conditions at the mine and the current method of operations the
bond works out to be less then originally calculated. The copy of the revised Exhibit L explains
how we have arrived at this decision. The final estimated number was rounded to the closest
$100.
August 12, 2021 2
